New Bed

New Bed

2024-01-27

The beginning of last summer I started sleeping badly. Minor hip or back pain that got worse and worse. Figuring out the cause actually was what led to my surgery, but Neil and I also started talking about getting a new bed. We are both suckers for a good research project but I wasn’t convinced we needed a new one and it seemed really overwhelming. Neil took it on with gusto and finally sold me on a Bear mattress with its adjustable bed frame. Ok. Adjustable bed frames (legs/head can be raised or lowered) are totally an old people thing. And it’s glorious and I’m content to keep on getting old if stuff like this is in my future. We’ve had it for a few weeks now and I only wish we had done this sooner. Our kids love it (especially for movie nights). The “Zero G” setting (head and legs raised a little bit with legs slightly higher than the head) is soooooo relaxing. And the best part is I’m not waking up super sore and feeling like I’m 90. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for aging. I just don’t think I should be hobbling around in the morning at 38.
[First picture is the old bed setup, then unwrapping the mattress and take down/set up. Spiffy remote. Lots of enjoying. Last picture the bed started moving without warning and Naomi was mid shout of surprise]
