Vacuum and Rabbits

2020-01-25

I know those two things always go together in your mind, am I right? Ok maybe not. But they are two things I’m excited about, but neither really warrants a dedicated post. As this is my blog, I can do what I want. Rabbits, new vacuums and carpet cleaning shall hereby coexist in this post. Ahem.

So my husband does this thing. It’s really hard to be annoyed at, but it usually inspires a great deal of conflict in my head. It’s not something I’d change about him…and it’s also taken me time to learn to accept it. Here’s the thing: he spoils me. If I/we maybe need a new something, his first thought is the biggest and the best. Also right now this very minute. I don’t operate that way. I’m more of a “I’ve got duct tape, this thing could totally last another month. It’s fine. Really!” kind of person. And even when I’ve accepted that a new purchase is justified and imminent, I’ll still want to stew on it and go back and forth for a good long while. Then I’ll still have a little bit of hesitation, but I can move forward. Well, our vacuum was still functional. Technically. [Quick aside about me: vacuuming is my all time favorite household chose. I genuinely love to vacuum. Lawn mowing falls in that same chore family so I love that too. ]Anyways, it was kind of a drag when the tool I had to do my favorite job was failing me. Neil could not let that continue and he finagled and wheedled and I gave in. He got me a Shark.

Vacuum

Dang. Dude. It has changed my life. I love it so much. Sadly it did confirm my suspicions that our carpet was disgusting. I’ve been meaning to clean the carpet for a while, but this got me moving. I figured what better way to start the new year that with clean carpets and a vacuum to keep them shiny.

The kids were thrilled when we piled the furniture in the kitchen and I gave them permission to climb all over everything. I momentarily lost my mind.

Ewwwww. I was right. At least all that mess isn’t in my carpets anymore.

Vacuum

You know I couldn’t not introduce our two new rabbits. Oslo (Ozzy for short) will be our new buck and hopefully he will be as good at his job as Wellington was. Still sad about those stupid dogs using my babies as chew toys. Sigh.

Beijing is our new doe. I hope she turns out to be as good a mamma as Nairobi. She and Ozzy are both fairly young but we will breed them mid February to have litters in mid March. After it warms up a bit. We put a new and better roof on their newly dog proofed run and it’s keeping everything dry and snug.

Further bunny posts to come, but I’ll probably not show junk from my carpets any more. Just know that I’m here, vacuuming away with my awesome new vacuum cleaner. Because I’m a geek and should get out more.
