During our long and exhausting day at the Carolina Renaissance Faire, I did some deep soul searching. Was this really worth it? The drive, the crazy crowds (they didn’t do the scaled back student days like we’ve gone to every other year since we moved here and today was our first public ren faire experience. Insanity.), the expensiveness of it all? As I was walking, hustling to the next thing, I realized…yeah. I love everything about a solid Renaissance Faire and ours never fails to deliver. We are pros and milk the day for all we can. I’m glad it only happens once a year, but after skipping last year we are back on track. Naomi, Garyn, and Corra dressed up and all basked in the compliments they received. Layna was very much content to skip jousting entirely and go do things with her favorite person (Neil) in tow. Epic adventures were had by all. I loved it.
p.s. if we never go in the mermaid tent again, I’ll be able to still live a full and complete life. Corra and Naomi’s expressions perfectly capture socially distanced masked mermaid encounters.
p.p.s. Sorry I missed last week and sorry my posts for the next while might be light on words and heavy on pictures. I’m keeping a lot of balls in the air right now and sometimes lately I find I don’t want to talk very much.
