Valentines this year

Here are just a few ways that we say “I Love You” at our house. Cheap chocolates with cheesy, non-brand pictures…It’s tradition. Flowers, no matter where we can get them (The yellow ones were mediocre so the pink ones stepped up their game magnificently). Pink pancakes made by the littlest who even woke up extra early so her brother could have some before seminary. Extra, super fun Valentine’s Day themed school stuff. Bluey Valentines for our Co-op friends and homemade fudge that even tastes fantastic melted. Park zip lines with a Dad who will race to win. Ribeye. The exact same selfie I always take because I never get sick of how handsome this guy is. Lunch date after the actual day, but who cares because lunch date. Daddy Daughter Dance with the only child still young enough to go (she is practicing for the coming teen nonchalance). Not pictured: waiting up for the boy when he comes home late from work AND staying awake and engaged while he talks about whatever is on his mind. Said boy making his sisters laugh, want to punch him, and bear hugs all around. Naomi’s side pony tail straight out of the 80’s. Layna busting out phrases like “I don’t have time for this”. Baby goats. Fruit trees giving me perfect little white flowers. Smooching my sweetheart anytime we can snag a minute.
