Our annual cousin camping trip came at the usual time of year…but without normal “just warm enough” weather. The end of May has been crazy chilly. It’s throwing off my groove…we were supposed to set up the pool today as it’s Memorial Day weekend. Nope, it’s 60 degrees and raining. Anyways, camping weekend it was rainy and things were complicated (lots of reasons that don’t matter) so I made the executive decision to do all the fun camping stuff, except actually sleeping at the campsite. We left when things slowed down and came back as soon as we could in the morning. Luckily, the weather was much better on Saturday so all the usual water fun still happened. Garyn had work, so he came over in the morning to squeeze in a bit of paddle boarding and fishing. Some one found a baby frog, the kids cremated a dead fish they found, and no one died (despite some valiant efforts). Winning all around! Good food, good company, and beautiful location. Delightful annual tradition, as always. We look forward to this all year…no matter if the weather or life choose to play nice.

Life is good. There are so many balls I’m juggling, but I only drop a few every now and then. Neil is there to help me pick them up and start again. The kids don’t mind when I have to scramble and forgive me when I’m cranky. Summer is officially here and we are ready. Relaxed wake up times, no more late nights at Chick-Fil-A, and lots and lots of time outside.
