This post is not, in fact, about my two babies at all. Did the cover photo fake you out? No? Sigh. Fine then.
Actually it’s about my big kids and the week long adventure they had. Our church hosts week long camps for kids 14-18ish called “For the Strength of Youth” where they stay at a college campus and attend all sorts of classes and activities and dances. Everything is geared towards learning how to become closer to God and our Savior, Jesus Christ. Naturally since we dropped them off and picked them up a week later…I only have pictures of the before and after. We managed to keep the little girls entertained and happy without their big siblings for the week and it was novel to turn off my mom brain after 8:30pm. Lately, I don’t ever really turn it off unless I’m sleeping since Garyn stays up late now. Anyways…The big ones had an amazing trip. This was Garyn’s second year so he knew what to expect, but he said it was even better than last year. Naomi said it was life changing and she learned and felt things she had never experienced before. Watching my kids get older is pretty cool.
We got Panda Express for lunch before dropping them off. The little girls loved seeing Naomi’s dorm room and were sad not to meet her roommate. Well, the roommate never came so Nay got a taste of having her own room. Garyn and Neil got all settled and then we said good bye. When we picked them up it was super early in the morning so it was pop tarts in the car for breakfast. You know how I feel about pop tarts. Again, Sigh. We got talked at for the first hour of the drive home and it was so fun to get back into our normal groove as a party of six.

Garyn has another year before he ages out and soon we will figure out Layna going too…not sure what that will look like…but in the mean time it was an amazing experience to get ready for the school year. Which starts in two and a half weeks. What. Even.
