Lots of things are being labeled “the last…” this year. This field trip might very well be our last official Raven Rock Homeschool Field trip. We will go as a family, of course, but with Corra and (most likely) Layna starting school at our charter school next year this was probably our last Raven Rock trip with just the three of us. I’ve been working through all those feelings and it’s still a definite work in progress.
Neil was in San Francisco and I knew I’d be needing ways to pass the time. The weather couldn’t have been more perfectly fall and we had a great time. The nature trail was a shorter hike but still full of treasures and hidden fairy spots. The dog got thoroughly worn out and the picnic hit the spot.
Tonight’s post is short…I’m exhausted. Neil made it back in one piece and next week I’ll be writing all about his job at Grammarly now that he’s been there 3 months. In other news, I met with the school administration about Layna going school next year and we’ve got tentative green lights. She is beside herself with excitement which makes me so happy. I’m continuing to wrap my head around the end of my tenure as a home school mom. I’m sure there will be words to share later, but right now…I’m tired. I’m glad Neil is home, I sleep better when he’s breathing next to me.
