Be Mine

The best holidays span multiple days and multiple events. I’m not historically a huge Valentine’s Day person. This year I didn’t even put up the meager decorations that we do own [GASP!] or make fancy themed food [Double GASP! Who even am I???]. But despite my mild apathy for the holiday, it didn’t disappoint and exceeded expectations. There were, in fact, many events and sweet moments. Nothing momentous, but lovely.

Morning of, there was the customary cheap, cheap chocolate that especially delighted my Corra. But before that…
One of my orchids blossomed and said “Good morning”.
We are all about using any excuse for a dinner date. We haven’t done sushi since we moved here and Neil found a cute little dive. It was yummy. So yummy I forgot to take a picture of the actual sushi. I chose dessert and didn’t make the same photographic error. Yarboroughs does not mess around with their banana splits and there was ice cream and fudge sauce underneath all my whipped cream.
There was our Gigi’s class and for the first time ever, hand-written Valentine’s for friends. Layna is a real writer now.
Corra had silks that night and to celebrate the girls talked about their crushes and learned some tandem moves. Not digging the crush talk, but the dual silks is super fun to watch.

Surprisingly, I forgot our usual selfie. I really need to step up my game if I’m going to do Pi Day or St. Patrick’s Day justice. But don’t worry, my Valentine and I are properly and sickeningly in love, and luckily, our fellow housemates all approve of a bit of romance. Especially Layna.
