So many things are changing ‘round these parts. I missed last week, and I’ll be missing the next two weeks because we are going to Denmark. But tonight before the insanity really hits I want to catch you up on big kids and then celebrate something as it is now that will never exist again after this summer…my kids’ rooms.
First up, we sat through 3-4 hours worth of ceremonies at the kids’ school. The few seconds of having Garyn or Naomi on stage where we could yell and clap for them made it all worth it. The seniors awards ceremony was first. The real reason we were excited for this one is because the race for valedictorian came down to Garyn and a girl named Samantha. The Director said it actually came down to about 1/100th of a point. Sam ended up just a smidge ahead and Garyn is the salutatorian. Which is great with us…He still gets to speak at graduation next week. Plus he and Neil can be salutatorian buddies. He also was given an award for demonstrating “Integrity” the best of all his classmates. Naomi was honored for straight A’s and she also got the “Integrity” award out of all the 9th graders. So we were super proud of them and quite pleased about what those Integrity awards about how they conduct themselves out in the wide world.
And now, a total topic jump. Garyn is leaving and that means his room will be vacated. Naomi has plans involving pink paint, a built-in book shelf covering the far wall, new carpet upstairs and all sorts of stuff. So I wanted to share pictures of Garyn’s room as it is now before it changes forever. I’m so grateful my mom took pictures of my high school room.
When Naomi moves down the hall, Layna and Corra will be sharing the current girls room and there will also be changes. Mostly new paint, but lots of rearranging and two girls’ worth of stuff instead of three to be spread around.
P.s. We [heart] stickers. And art. And orgainzed chaos.
