Today our pool began its annual hibernation. We didn’t use it as much as usual because it became a pond much sooner this summer. We did host late night pool parties for the local frog community, however. Luckily we know people with access to actual, clear-watered pools and as such we were able to get in enough sun and chlorine to feel like we had a proper summer

It’s ok that we are saying goodbye to summer a wee bit early this year. We are in full “back to school” mode. Also “redecorate the whole house” mode. Also “canning all the things to un-bury the kitchen from the fruit tsunami” mode. Also “which species of poison dart frogs should we get?” mode (I’ll explain later). So basically…completely normal.
