Mango Durango.
So we did a thing. It actually was kind of in keeping with how we go about things. I started thinking about how it was getting to be time for me to have a new Me car. That turned into conversations…hypothetical conversations, mind you. Conversations led to research and that led to more serious conversations. Then since we had casually accidentally on-purpose nudged that first domino, we test drove a Dodge Durango. Dominoes kept falling and the perfect one turned up in a search Neil ran for fun. Now, after some repairs and sprucing up, we have that lovely 2019 Dodge Durango Citadel cooling off in our yard after bringing us home from Ren Faire today (post on that next week)
One of the first orders of business was naming the new car, naturally. Naomi proposed “Mango” and the girls happily agreed. I love it so it’s official. I didn’t want another van. We still need to be able to drive with our 4 kids on rare occasions but for day-to-day the girls wanted more defined personal space (with heated seats if we were dreaming big). We needed to be able to tow a trailer and Neil wanted a sun roof for funsies. Tatanka doesn’t go out much anymore but we did need something she could ride in comfortably. We also wanted new-ish so we don’t have to mess with this again for at least 6-7 years. What that ended up looking like is a 2019 that was top of the line and top of its class with second row Captains chairs and a small third row that is Naomi’s cave. We are loving when it rains on the sunroof and the girls make sure to get snuggly with their heated seats every morning on the way to school. Tatanka didn’t even hesitate when I took her into town for the first time. She knows how this will go. Garyn has seen pictures and will have fun taking his sisters for a spin in it when he comes home in a week and a half.
We are so pleased and it’s been fun learning all this new fangled technology.
