Kittens

Naomi has wanted kittens for a really long time. The short version is that the stars and planets aligned in my head and I saw a way to maximize Christmas for my child who has the fewest opinions about Christmas. Then once that was all sorted, the real planets and stars aligned for us to find Sherlock and Mycroft.

[Cue random hodgepodge of the best kitten pictures we have amassed since they came home Christmas Day]

At first we thought Mycroft (white from forehead to chin) was the chill, calm one. He was not bothered by the dog in the slightest and wasn’t super rambunctious. Underneath that composed dignity lurked an insatiable appetite. Literally. He is the reason we no longer can even leave bagged bread on the counter! He’ll eat anything. At first we thought Sherlock (super cool triangle over one eye) was the crazy daredevil cat. He was always the first to play but was cautious of the dog. After jumping down from our second floor balcony to the kitchen floor below and having Tatanka try to stomp his head…He is still almost as daredevily but a bit more inclined to cuddle and be loved.
In fact, these boys are the perfect mix for our family. I’m so glad Naomi made a strong case against “only kitten syndrome”. Playful, brave of dogs, and soooooooooo cuddly. I’m grateful planets aligned all over the place.
