We set records around these parts with “days since measurable snow fall”. Raleigh was pushing 1000 days. When we moved here, we counted on having at least a few days of the lovely white stuff every year. Unfortunately, the last few years have been far too warm. Not that mild winter days are totally out of the ordinary here. As I type this, every window in our house is open to the lovely 60 degree fresh air outside. Anyways, snow happened and we were glad. My girls got two remote school days and they were delightful. My sweet dog released her husky side and frolicked with reckless abandon. The pictures don’t do it justice.
Garyn gets plenty of snow where he is at and by the time he’s lived through two Alaskan winters I’m anticipating he will love the snow even more. Or he’ll be really over it. Who knows? As for us, it’s still a novelty we anxiously look forward too. Happy February!
