Recap of stuff in 2025

2025-12-13

Two thirds of my lovely girls have made it to winter break…poor Corra (being in Middle School) has one week left. But in honor of almost being to the “hibernate for the rest of the year” period, I wanted to do another recap of adventures you haven’t seen yet.

All the girls had a project night where they got to show off what they’ve worked on. Neil was traveling so I was on my own, which explains why I didn’t get many pictures. Not pictured is the epic Jack-o-Lantern for her English teacher’s class.
Naomi’s big thing this semester was the school play…a retelling of Tuck Everlasting. She was disappointed to be cast as an understudy. Luckily they did an understudy performance so she got to don a make-up beard and twirl a cane as the villain. This Tuesday she also has her big voice recital and I’ll share pictures of that later.

Corra was really involved with the school’s Lego robotics club. They did presentations and went on several field trips. The season was capped off with a competition hosted at their school. I volunteered as a judge and we had a wonderful day. She has decided not to keep going with it next semester but is glad she gave it a go.

I got to keep going to the school to cook lunch with Layna’s class a few times a month. We also did a Food and Nutrition class together and part of it was making videos of her cooking things. That was one of her favorite things this semester. Her class also went on a few field trips. The very last outing was to get serve hours by ringing the bell for the Salvation Army bucket at our local Hobby Lobby. She had fun for a while but isn’t going to quit her day job.

We fit in some temple trips and are finishing the semester feeling pretty good about life. Next semester has some fun new adventures: Naomi is taking 3 college classes and two AP classes. Layna is going to volunteer at the Zoo up the street from us once a week. Corra is going to try out for her school’s girl’s soccer team. Can’t wait to see how it all plays out!
