Today’s post will be a bit demanding. I’m sorry, but I need you to loan me your imagination to cover my shameful lack of picture taking. You know by now that Valentine’s Day is not a major holiday at our house. However, we (meaning I) love holidays and recognize them all to some degree (Tuesday we are having bao and almond cookies to mark the Lunar New Year). Anyways. Got your imagination ready? Perfect. Please visualize a small fluffy blue octopus, a fluffy shark with gold flecks, and an incredibly pink jelly fish with tafeta tentacles. Each of those stuffies was sitting on a heart chocolate box with cheap chocolates on the kitchen table this morning for each of my girls. I mailed Garyn one a few weeks ago. Neil and I did our Valentine’s date last weekend (because today and yesterday were busy). There…Happy Valentine’s Day!
The cover photo was some of the counters we looked at for our gradual kitchen refresh. There will be much more on that later. Then for lunch we went to an Indian lunch buffet and it was amazing.
This morning my girls were on their own to eat chocolate and look after each other while Neil and I did our laundry shift at the temple. So, Ok…Now imagine us taking a selfie wearing all white in front of some industrial washers and dryers.
This afternoon I had time to snuggle with some of my other Valentines. They continue to make us laugh and are hopelessly needy and demanding of our affection and attention.
Then there was the main Valentine. We tried to do a proper selfie but then started laughing so hard at the botched attempts that it was a very near thing. I guess that about sums up us. Ridiculously in love and perfectly content to be in our own little world. Valentine’s Day gets a lot of cynicism and snobbery, but I’ve come to a point where I’m all for the most over the top, cheesy design themes if it gives me an excuse to be more twitterpated than usual.
