It’s always a good garden year when I can grow a rainbow. Despite the drought, my garden is hanging in there and is so beautiful. We haven’t even gotten to the end of the summer with the figs, pears, watermelon, cantaloupes, and sunflowers!

It was a very good flower year thanks to wild flowers from Garyn and volunteers from last year. My trusty perennials didn’t disappoint either. This was the first time in a few years that I was really excited about my garden. So we worked hard clearing and brought in a ton of new dirt.
I’m already feeling overwhelmed by the modest harvest I’m getting and there are no chickens or anything to eat the extra and help me not feel guilty. However, even with all the ususal “I’m drowning in cucumbers” drama and looking at my pear and fig trees bounty with trepidation…it feels good to be reminded how much I love this.
